A Special Friend - poetry by a playwright - poem, friendship, love

Here is a poem I wrote a long time ago but it got my attention because I feel like my wish finally came true.

"A Special Friend" by D. M. Larson

In life we see many sorrows
At times they never seem to end
But God gives us power to grow
And help the hurting and to mend
Broken hearts they carry within
The fight they should fight forever
Against all the hate caused by sin
Live for God and love each other

In the end we might find a friend
To share our love and sorrows
Now and then we might need a friend
To help us love and help us grow

In God we have a special friend
A friend who knows all our sorrows
God's special love will never end
And when we hurt, God always knows

We need a friend until the end
And once in our life God will send
A special friend, to bring us love
Two wings together, of one dove
