Lesson 7 Goal Free Online Writing Classes for New Writers

Lesson 7 - GOAL

What is your goal for the story?

Is there something you want to say?

For example, The Wizard of Oz might be trying to say “There’s no place like home.” In other words, appreciate what you have.  Or it might be asking the question, “Is the grass greener on the other side?” (Oz being the other side) Maybe it looks great at first but there are witches lurking.

Assignment 7A: What is your goal for your project? What are you trying to say? Add to your notes and then continue to lesson 8.

Assignment 7B: What is one of your favorite books or movies you enjoy over and over again? What do you think the writers were trying to say? Accomplish?

If you need help at any time, type up your notes and email your question and your notes to me at

  1. I would have to say one of my favorite books to read would be Green Eggs and Ham. Not only do I read it alot because my daughter loves it but it is a fun book to read that is well written. The meaning or lesson behind the book is simple really, keep an open mind and try new things. People in general put down or criticize what they do not know or understand. If we all kept an open mind and just tried things or tried to understand things we would have a better society. I believe getting to know the things we do not know or understand just makes us a better rounded individual who would be more of a pleasure to be around.
