PART 5 SCENE - CATCH THE STARS

ROSE

It’s such a beautiful afternoon. The sky is clear. The stars will be amazing tonight.  Mother, may we please sleep outside tonight?

MOTHER

Of course.

(SNOW and ROSE skip around hand in hand happily.  ANGEL appears to the MOTHER unnoticed by the girls)

ANGEL

I will watch over them.

MOTHER

Thank you.

SNOW

I love the night. I will read us stories before the sun goes down.

ROSE

I know a lovely patch of soft ground with gentle grass and flowers where you can make a bed.

SNOW

That’s sounds wonderful.  I want to count the stars.

ROSE

I watch catch the stars and keep them in a jar.  

SNOW

There are not enough jars in the world for all your desires.

ROSE

Come… bring your book… I want to hear the story of the prince again.  He sounds handsome and strong.

SNOW

And smart and kind.

ROSE

He’s too good to be true.

SNOW

It’s a story so we’ll have to pretend.

ROSE

Perhaps we can wish him to life in our dreams.

SNOW

You and your silly ideas.

ROSE

I know… but let’s try anyway.

(SNOW and ROSE giggle and exit)
