How can you get started as an actor? What would help you when you're new to acting?

One of the goals of Freedrama.net is to help new actors.  We have numerous acting resources such as free plays and monologues.

Check out the extensive list of free monologues that you can use for an audition, workshop, classroom or competition.  You can even use these monologues for practice.

Freedrama also has a great deal of tips and advice for new actors from help with stage fright to memorizing lines:

Finally, as a way to help new actors, Freedrama is sponsoring a voice acting contest:

Contests are a good way to get experience and if you win or are a finalist, it is something you put on your acting resume.

Please post any questions you have about acting below and I will do my best to answer them.
