Copy Cat Improv Games (Theatre Games so Easy a Baby Can Play)

Our latest improv video features our baby improver, Crazy Kat, who shows us how to do the Copy Cat game. This game is similar to the mirror exercise:

Mirror Exercise:
Pair up actors. One actor is the mirror and must copy everything the other actor does.

With the Copy Cat variation, you can also add sounds and copy the noises the actor makes. See the video for an example of Copy Cat with our baby improver.

Here is the Copy Cat video! Enjoy :)

Monologues on Depression

Someone was looking for scripts about depression. She said, "I want to get people thinking that depression isn't just an emotion which can be changed to just like clicking your fingers. I want to make it to show how it hurts people through their life how they hid the pain but inside they're dying. how people can say they understand but they don't and no one else feels the way they do."

Here some monologues I've written that talk about this:

You found me, cast aside, lost and broken. You searched through the rubble to find the severed pieces of my life, and slowly fit them back together again.

Before you, I felt like I was dying. The panic consumed me and squeezed the life from my heart. But I didn’t care. When we are weighed down by the torture of hate, we don’t fear death. There was nothing to live for… until I met you.

You rebuilt me and fixed what was broken. You made me better and pieced me back together in new ways that improved me. With the right parts, I was reborn... and life felt real... and right for the first time.

Superhero Writing and Art

My wife and both enjoy Superheroes (and villains) for our writing and art.

I'm writing a new superhero script now and have two that I have completed:

Superhero Support Group: http://freedrama.net/supers.html A play for six actors.

Protecto (Kid Hero): http://www.freedrama.net/protecto.html A monologue.

Eventually I hope to have enough scripts on this topic for a longer themed play.

My wife does a lot of awesome superhero art. Her Rogue picture from X-Men is very popular but she does a great villain (Harley Quinn):

Fun Kid Production Idea

Here is a fun idea for a play production for kids using the play Holka Polka: http://freedrama.net/polka.html

Use this poster as a coloring page in your program that kids can take home with them or even hand out crayons for during the show and add an autograph page for after the show!

New poster for Holka Polka play for kids

Holka Polka is a fun mix of Wizard of Oz and Shrek, making a crazy fairy tale mystery where a good witch needs to save a sleeping prince. http://freedrama.net/polka.html

It is a full length play for kids but appeals to a lot of ages with it's humor.

My wife recently completed a new poster for the play which is really like:

Thanks for play script from Italy!

The Hysterical History of the Trojan War is making an international tour this year. http://freedrama.net/troy.html

"Hello. I'm an Italian teacher in the primary school. This year we've been working on your script about the Trojan war and at the end of the school we made a show for the families. It was great and I would really thank you for the wondertul play you've written. I LOVE IT! Go on writing."

My scripts travel more than I do :) But I love it. Thanks to all of you who use my plays from Albuquerque to Albania to Antartica. It's an honor to have you perform my scripts.
