Trying to Escape monologue from published play Somebody Famous

“TRYING TO ESCAPE”
by D. M. Larson

(This monologue is best performed when the actor can interact with the audience and use an audience member or another person to interact with)

REGGIE
I wonder where they went?  Hey, there’s one of them.

(REGGIE rushes into audience and grabs audience member)

Trying to escape huh? Well, we’ll just have to see about that.

(Audience member protests)

You’re not a prisoner? Let me see some ID.

(Gets wallet from purse)

I’ll just keep this wallet for evidence purposes.

(Gets keys)
And your car keys. Which car is yours? We’ll need to investigate it too. Make sure there aren’t any criminals stashed in the trunk. And we’ll check for drugs too. See her eyes. She looks like an addict. Take her away!
